Football players are assholes. I know - my brother is their king. Older and annoyingly overprotective, he's the star quarterback at Santa Cruz High School. I love him, but everyone worships the air he breathes and it's suffocating. After a traumatic experience with a quarterback three years ago, I want nothing to do with boys and dating. All that matters is getting into college, so I ace my classes and sign up for my school's student ambassador program to boost my applications. Thankfully, I have my best friend, Harper, to get me through high school being overshadowed by my brother. My plans for a quiet, low-key senior year are destroyed when my brother's cocky, arrogant rival keeps butting into my life. Logan Hightower is a total player who expects me to drool at his feet while he uses me to burn my brother's game. If he thinks I'll fall for his gorgeous looks and shallow charms, he's totally mistaken. He'll never succeed because I hate football players. Nevai and Toriola Odeli were not thrust into a story. They were bred for it, nursed on revelry and wickedness, laid on broken wings and shattered promises. Betrayal was their butter, malice their milk, cruelty an acquired taste, one they found quite a liking for. Nevai, for one, is a blade, and one worth wielding. She bleeds and laughs, falls and dances, but she sheds no tears. Nevai is a weapon and weapons do not weep. Toriola is a necklace, made of the purest silver. Blood red jewels, and wicked sapphires, she is above them all. Her eyes remain painfully dry for metal is made to shine, not shy away. Weapons do not weep, sapphires shed no tears but our legends want to be queens. And crowns? If crowns could cry, we would all drown in the tears. Perhaps not even the sharpest blade and purest silver are a match for cries of a crown. Nevai and Toriola are not heroes. But they will be legends. Come along for the story, perhaps you too may acquire the taste for tears? ------------- Gorgeous cover by @MentalUnstableSquad !!

Stories are written by the winners. Winners who never fail to paint themselves in a 'favorable' light. I've been called evil. Twisted. Strange. Heartless. All fair assessments; I dispute none of these claims. In fact, I hold my head high while confessing to the evil, twisted, strange, and heartless things that I've done. The things, those ignorant of the truth, would condemn. But all people are capable of all things under the right conditions, good or bad. Don't believe me? I dare you to read my story and tell me if you would have--could have--done things differently. One of your most beloved fairy tale classics retold. Get all sides of the story.

Alexander Langley wasn't looking for trouble but Charlotte Porter found him anyway. Only, this new partnership has them in over their heads and way before their time. 2020 WATTYS WINNER in MYSTERY The life of a poor merchant's daughter in Victorian Era London is quite boring. Charlotte Porter, it seems, is the exception. Desperate for a source of income once her father's gambling debts have drained their funds and placed them in the sights of some of London's most notorious criminals, Charlotte is in search of salvation. It comes in the form of handsome detective Alexander Langley, a curious gentleman with a strange connection to Scotland Yard and an even stranger connection to the American West. Charlotte soon finds herself swept into his world of investigation and intrigue. When a case of art theft turns into murder and she and Alexander are thrown into the seedy underbelly of the London elite, Charlotte realizes that the work isn't the only thing she's become attached to. But now, her father's powerful creditors are ready to close the books on them, and Charlotte must find a way to keep them out of the red because this time it won't be written in ink.
