This is a folklore fanfic based on the love triangle in august, betty and cardigan. Betty has always been the same. As lively as a butterfly, funny and a little quirky. She goes out of her way to help people and everyone loves her. But no one really listens to her. No one gets her , that is until James moves to town. James just wants a new start, an escape from the demons of his past, but he doesn't think he'll get one. All he has to do is get through his first few days and not make a fool of himself and become the loner again. Self dubious and shy, the new kid, he just might be able to hide his secret when Betty takes him under her wing. Wendy is sick and tired of being her mother's golden girl. But it's the only way. Only way to get back to her old life. The sea of childhood memories. literally. In a time when her cheeks have forgotten how to smile she often catches herself laughing when a certain boy is around. Maybe she can get back to the girl she used to be if she just follows the light James sees in her. But isn't he Betty's boy (or is he?) What happens when Wendy and James visit the same town for the summer and Betty is left all alone. Maybe everything changes. Maybe it changes just like they hoped.
