News of Hydra's infiltration spread through the headlines like a virus, reaching even the most remote of places. No one ever thought that S.H.I.E.L.D., a once world renowned government protection group, would become a crumbling pile of ash and glass. With the Winter Soldier now faded into the crowd, no one knows where he is, no one can find him. He's the ghost everyone thought was a myth. But when he finds himself on the shore of the bay, injured and alone, a woman finds it in herself to show him the mercy he deserved. The Winter Soldier will stop at nothing to find out the truth, who he was and save the life of the stranger.

After the events at the Potomac, the Winter Soldier finds himself lost and wounded on Sam Summers' porch. Can she help him remember his past, or will HYDRA capture them both? Cara Nielsen's entire working career has revolved around sorting out the problems of the Avengers and other miscellaneous S.H.I.E.L.D. members that surround them which is a pretty interesting task. From Iron Man to Thor, she's had the whole lot in her office on at least one occasion (many more with the likes of Stark and Banner), consulting her for advice or asking for help with dealing with what they do. Her agenda changes drastically however, when a new patient is brought to the building and placed permanently on her books while the others are reassigned to a new therapist just out of college. All she knows is that she'll see him every day to conduct rigourous psychoanalysis on what Hydra has done to his brain.
