Every one gets a soulmate, that's just common knowledge. A person to make you feel complete, happy, perfect. There, of course, are two types; Romantic: Someone to love, hold, kiss, date, marry, maybe have a couple kids, or just a pet. Platonic: A best friend, someone you click with, being able to talk for hours and never getting bored, basically your other half. Your soulmate makes your life better, so the worst thing you could imagine is getting the 'goodbye gift'. You may be asking what that is, its a gift you get as a way for your soulmate to say bye, whether they passed, or found someone they love more then you.
