The older male offered him a role to play in the League of Villains. Seeing that Izuku had no more means of wanting to be a hero, he joins them to the world of villainy. He may not find himself useful, especially since he has no quirk, but All for One sees the boy's potential and knowledge about heroes so he teaches him. He helps All For One with the noumus and even the monsters seemed to obey him. While he may be a villain, that doesn't stop him from seeing his comrades as family. Give up, get a normal job and forget about becoming a hero" But Izuku couldn't forget, he grew to hate heros. He can't understand why they get to live up to the dream he didn't even have a chance at. So he starts watching the villains instead and begins idolising them. 'they're so accepting' he thinks 'maybe they'll give me a chance' And that's how Izuku Midoriya gave up on what could've been.
