Going to school to be a graphic designer had always been kenma's goal. Now that he was in the school of his dreams he realized while it did have its perks... his lack of social skills was a problem. Kuroo being the guy who likes rock and roll and appreciates tattoos comes off as a scary guy, but despite his edgy appearance he has a soft side. Dealing with mild depression and hopelessness at the young age of 15 he creates a band with his childhood friends. Four years later they Hit the jack pot getting a gig at a bar right next to the campus of Tokyo's University of fine Art. Kenma è un ragazzo di 17 anni per niente curioso, a meno che non si stia parlando dell'ultimo videogioco uscito. Si sente completamente distaccato dalla realtà, ed è solo grazie a Kuroo che piano piano si è fatto qualche amico ed ora fa parte del club di pallavolo. Quest'ultimo però ormai è stanco di fare la parte del migliore amico sempre al suo fianco. Kenma, un genio se si tratta di tattica mosse e conoscenza dei propri avversari, non riuscirà a capire proprio i gesti dell'unica persona importante nella sua vita. Ma non potrà di certo andare avanti così, e questo non lo pensano solo i suoi compagni di squadra. Un'entità lo osserva da tempo, ben quattro mesi, ed ora il momento della scelta è arrivato.
