Keon "Kae" Briggs was born and built in Ridge Pointe, a place where loyalty weighs heavy, losses come early, and boys grow into men faster than they should. Youngest of five, raised in a house full of brothers tied to the streets, Kae was the only one the neighborhood protected. Football wasn't just his gift; it was his lifeline. His way out. His one clean thing. Amira Fields is quiet in a way that makes people underestimate her. A soft-spoken, introverted girl who grew up with manga notebooks, science kits, and a mind that never stopped building things. When Ridge Pointe Low was home, she was the kid who stayed inside drawing anime while chaos moved outside the window. Shy. Observant. Different in a way kids picked on. What happens when the two connect after years apart, after years of learning themselves, losing themselves, and finding out home wasn't a place, it was a person?

In the mist of Louisiana bayou and New Orleans, Tabhita "Tabby" Evergreen has grown into a witch of formidable power. Orphaned at twelve after vampires slaughtered her parents, Tabby was taken in by Madame Dubé, a voodoo priestess whose teachings of ancestral magic shaped her into the bayou's fierce protector. To Tabby, all vampires are monsters, and she has sworn never to forgive their kind. But her oath is tested when she encounters Lucien Moreau, a centuries-old vampire who doesn't strike but kneels, whispering a name Tabby doesn't recognize as her own: Charlotte. Lucien believes Tabby is the reincarnation of his mortal lover, a healer he lost centuries ago in a war between witches and vampires. To him, she is fate returned. To Tabby, he is the embodiment of everything she has vowed to destroy. As vampire clans circle the bayou, drawn by whispers of Tabby's growing power, she becomes both a target and a prize. Her hatred collides with a pull she cannot explain dreams that don't belong to her, emotions that stir like echoes of another life. Torn between the memory of a love she never lived and the vengeance that defines her, Tabby must choose: cling to her rage, or risk her heart on a man who may be bound to her by blood, fate, and a past she doesn't remember.

"So when you gon' stop playing and let me hit that shit, Zuria?" Mitch asked while he smoked a blunt in my mother's living room and we both sat on the floor. "Let you hit this?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as I watched him blow smoke into the air. "Yeah." He smirked, cockily. "How about when you learn how to talk to your girlfriend?" I took the blunt out of this hands and smashed it on the ashtray that was on the coffee table. "Whatchu do that for?" He bit his bottom lip, leaning into me. "Hm?" He went on, softly biting my neck. "I've told you, you can't smoke in here, Mitchell." "You're really not even supposed to be here." I said to him, considering my mother did not condone boys in her house but here he was. He'd completely ignored me though as he mushed his head into my neck, leaving small kisses. "Stop." I whined playfully as he pushed himself up onto me and kissed my lips, pushing me backwards with our lips still attached. "Mitch." I spoke nervously as he climbed on top of me while I now laid my back onto the carpet. "Let me hit that shit, ma." He spoke softly into my ear as he continued leaving kisses on my neck. "Mitch, we cant. My mom will be home from work soon." I expressed to him but he ran his hands up my school skirt anyway. "Stop bitchin'." "Let me finally pop that cherry, Z." He spoke, putting his lips on mine as he slowly moved my underwear aside and rubbed his fingers against my Girl. "Mm." I moaned, unfamiliar with this feeling but it felt great. And though I knew my mother would be here soon, I no longer wanted to stop. He continued rubbing it as I laid there, looking up into his eyes. As I did, he smirked down at me and I smiled small, rubbing a hand down his cheek. I was so in love with this boy.
