With the latest flop of the first release of their newest movie, Lucario Man, Mr. Stu Deeoh has his trusted scout hold auditions for a remake of the disastrous movie in hopes that things will somehow turn around. Enter Ivan Sinclair, a 25 year old up and coming actor from Virbank City. Having owned every comic release of Lucario Man since its debut when he was twelve, he was more than excited when he heard that there were auditions being held in Nimbasa City for the role of his childhood hero. But after failing to make the cut during the first round of auditions, he finds himself inside a local club with his childhood friend and rival, Tommy Moon, a journalist from Driftveil City, trying to forget his recent failure. Seeing the distress of his friend, Tommy makes it a point to introduce him to Elesa Kamitsure, the most influential woman in Nimbasa City, who offers him a part-time job as an assistant Gym Leader which he gladly accepts. During his first day on the job, the same movie scout that sought out potential stars, visits the gym after hearing word of an intense trainer battling on Elesa's behalf.
