Kellin Quinn. He’s the ultimate criminal. Charged with murder, kidnapping, and assault, he’s been locked up in a prison in which he meets a certain man – no, not a man. He’s a monster, and he changes Kellin into a monster too; one with fangs and a craving for blood. Vic Fuentes. He’s the supposed “victim” here. On multiple medications, he’s forced into therapy to talk about this whole “incident” and the bullies at his new school, Mission Bay High. Vic’s over-active imagination pictures Kellin everywhere he goes, until one day, he actually is with him. When Kellin escapes from prison, he, Mike, Ari, Tay, Zack, and Vic run away. Vic Fuentes never thought anything bad would happen to him. He had a pretty decent life; star-player of the soccer team at his high school, good grades, girls swooning over him. Vic never really took danger precautions seriously. One drunken night, he’s dared to go into the woods alone in the middle of the night while drunk to sleep there. That’s the night when his mindset about danger changed. Kellin Quinn-Bostwick was always the loner boy. His life was as low as someone’s life could get; abusive parents, bad grades, no friends. He was also openly gay. People never tried to tease him or taunt him about it; or about anything, for that matter. Everyone knew Kellin could kill–literally. He watches Vic and his drunken friends near the woods and decides, without thinking, how to ruin their night. He doesn’t know it yet, but Kellin only made Vic’s night better. I was confused and distraught, but at the same time, empty. I opened my eyes to look down at the ground, a force was pulling me forward over the rails. I smelt the air, and felt the sun on my face for what could be the last time. /Do it. Oh, please. Do it./ My own mind was begging me, It will make things easier. It will end the pain. "Stop, please." I shook my head, pressing my hands to my ears, as tears were still falling out of my eyes. /You've fucked up everyones lives anyway. It will solve things./ I looked down into the traffic of busy cars and streetlights, feeling the rails, before leaning forward.'
