All I wanted was a mate. I just wanted one person to feel my absence in a crowded room-someone who noticed the silence I left behind, who chose me without hesitation, to miss me in the way I'd spent my whole life missing people. But those dreams were fractured the moment that I met Troy. He pressed the cold blade flush against my neck. I wanted to flip him so that he was the one on his back. I wanted to fight and drive my foot into his throat. "Hurry up." Even with death hovering at my pulse, I leaned into the blade. "Do it. Kill me." Here was his chance. He could slaughter me in the dark right here, right now. He would never have the opportunity again. Everyone had a mate and mine was going to kill me. *** ~2nd in series but can be read as a standalone~

"Yes, I had a choice and I chose to strip! I don't care what you think about me or my decisions!" I shouted at him. He had no right to just barge into my life and start lecturing me. He shook his head in disappointment. "You're right. It was your choice and for that I must reject you. I can't have a mate like you." I stared into his grey eyes not saying a word. Taking in everything that was happening right now and what the outcome would be. "Fine. I'll make it easy for you then," I said angrily. "I, Akua Asante, reject you, Soran Devione, as my mate." The pain I felt in my heart was nothing compared to what I've been through. With a smile on my face, I spun around and walked away from him knowing that I didn't need him to survive. Afterall, a wolf is no match for me.

I was shaken up when I heard the voice and raised my head to meet a gorgeous woman in her stunning attire. When did she come in? I didn't hear the door opening. She was smirking at me, waiting for me to give a reply, and I just sighed. "Seriously? I am fed up with hearing this question again and again. Why do you all think I am special? I mean, you all are the special ones, being vampires and werewolves, while I am just a normal girl, a mere human, to be precise." Desperation filled my voice, but then the lady spoke. "You are way more special than us, because you are his MATE." ................................. Atarah Davidson led more than a simple life despite being a teenager. She was raised by her 'good for nothing' grandparents as she was told that her parents died in an accident. But soon her life changed, after being kidnapped by vampires. Though she tried to escape, something stopped her. Maybe it's him, Mr. Perfect. Ryan O' Donnels, who is said to be her mate, was full of secrets. He was a man with the heart of steel and many demonic powers. But when each of his secrets started to reveal, she knew that all her life was a lie. That she's not just a mere human. That she indeed belonged to him. ...................................................... "But you know what hurts more?" His eyes were invading mine. "What?" I don't know if he even heard that, because my breath hitched in my throat, making me unable to speak. "That you are not mine yet...officially." My heart skipped a beat or two and I stood there like a statue. He did not just talk about marriage, right? Or did he? ...................................................... Maybe, just maybe, Ryan is not that hard hearted, maybe there's love in it somewhere..... for his beautiful mate. Who would know?

"So goddamn tiny," He muttered to himself, making a blush rise to Freya's cheeks. "I am not," She defended herself quietly. "You're just huge." ~🎀~ Freya Karol was the epitome of innocence. She was small, sheltered, and fiercely protected by her millionare father. Going out after 8pm was a no. Drinking alcohol or doing drugs was a no. Skipping school without reason was a no. And boys were a big no. But if there was one thing that attracted Falcon Anders, it was innocence. ~🎀~ "All the synonyms of perfect. This book is absolutely beautiful, the plot, the writing and the characters are so addicting. Literally fell in love within reading the first paragraph of the book. I honestly truly hope you update more often, because you're very talented and this book is literally beautiful💙" - Najma Copyright © 2019 N.E. Lorimer All rights reserved.

"You're atheist," I remind him. "You don't believe in god." "I believe in you," He murmurs, letting the cigarette hang from his lips. "I believe in whatever you believe." He says, letting the confession roll off his tongue as if it were that simple. As if god, the devil, heaven, hell-as if none of it really had meaning to him. "That's not how it works," I mutter as we walk down a few more alleyways-the city of Manhattan coated in a light blanket of snow. Henry Vitiello had never had anything to pray for, that is, until he met me-the only thing that had ever opened his mind up to the possibility of religion "Isn't it?" He argues, taking the cigarette by his middle and pointer finger before blowing the smoke out. "I'II dip my hands in holy water if it means I could touch you." "You'd probably burn." 𓆩♡𓆪 𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐘 𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎, the reaper. He's a prick. An asshole. A pretentious son of a bitch. He's not perfect. He's not even decent. But he's hers. She could be a bottle labeled poison but he was an alcoholic, and he had drunk her empty. Now he was hungover. 𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐄 𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒, the healer. She's known to be the perfect good girl, with perfect grades and a perfect life with a perfect family. They didn't know that behind the gated doors of their billion dollar estate, she was strapped down to a chair every night and picked apart just to be put back together in time for supper. 𓆩♡𓆪 star-crossed; adjective (of a person or a plan) thwarted by bad luck.
