Forced into marriage by duty and obligation, The Duke and Duchess of Rothbury parted ways a week after saying their vows under the explicit understanding that theirs was a marriage in name only. There would be no expectations of love, fidelity, or romance. The Duke hates the American Heiress who married him only for his title, completely unaffected by the senseless tragedy that had made their marriage necessary in the first place. When an illness forces him to retire to the country, he makes sure to choose the property where his wife wouldn't be. Except that she is, and she is still as insufferable as ever. The Duchess resents the man who killed her youthful dreams of love and abandoned her to live his bachelor life unencumbered. When she is jilted by her lover, and faced with inevitable ridicule, she decides to retire to her beloved estate in Cornwall, where she runs an orphanage. Never once does she expect to run into her cold, selfish, insufferable arse of a husband! Forced into each other's company by circumstance, the couple begin to unravel their individual prejudices. Resentment turns into respect and friendship. Respect and friendship soon turn into attraction and affection. Was love closer than either one of them could ever have imagined? And that begged the question; can the Duke win his wife's favor, or is it far too late to make their marriage a love match? Cover by MuniWilliams.

Carried to a fantasy future by a dark-eyed, time-traveling stranger, can Leonor overcome the guilt that haunts her and fulfill her destiny... while navigating her growing attraction to her newfound protector? Leonor, a student at present-day Harvard, would do anything for the people she holds dear: her roommates, her beloved little brother - and the brilliant but eccentric Professor Mosey, the mentor to whom she faithfully delivers meals three times a day while he conducts secret chemistry experiments that have earned him the nickname The Batty Professor. One night, Leonor's world is shattered when mysterious and deadly spies arrive at Professor Mosey's office to steal the discovery he made just hours earlier: a chemical solution that, when consumed, allows humans to time-travel. When Leonor becomes the spies' next target, she has no escape - until a man with midnight-black eyes whisks her three hundred years into the future. There, she discovers a world whose most powerful figure harbors dark plans to use Professor Mosey's time-travel solution to transform all of reality: past, present, and future. Plans that can be stopped, if at all, only by a secret that Leonor possesses. To prevent her enemy's designs from taking shape, Leonor will need the help of the newfound protector who carried her to the future, a man defined by his rigidly disciplined nature. Together, the two must navigate a city of elites, servants, mysteries, and masquerade balls. Their quest will require them to confront painful secrets from their own pasts, but Leonor is determined to do whatever it takes to save the world from doom. To save her family and friends. And to save the man with whom she has begun to share an attraction as unexpected as it is undeniable and irresistible. *** The first few story parts are long, then the parts become shorter. Everyone loved the "pure and perfect" heroine-except me. I was just a reader who got sick of watching the tragic villainess twin be humiliated, heartbroken, and killed for daring to want love. So, I tossed the book in the trash... and woke up as her. With a sassy system, twisted fate, and a burning grudge, I'm done playing the role of the jealous loser. Now? The villain chases after me like a man starved. The male lead can't stop falling in love. And the heroine? She's not so beloved anymore. I'll rewrite this story-and this time, the villainess gets everything. Watch out, world. I'm not here to survive. I'm here SLAY
