This is an analysis of the intriguing poem by Jamaica Kincaid. She is an author who lived on the Caribbean island of Antigua before it became independent from England in 1981, who shares her thoughts on England in a time of oppression.
I will first put my analysis, for those who only need help looking at the poem you already have in the light of another reader, myself. If you want to read the actual poem by Kincaid, it will be in the text too, after my analysis. I hope you enjoy reading this work as much as I did!
Note: if you choose to use some of the ideas I have presented, please be sure to cite me, I do not appreciate my thoughts on this topic being taken without recognition! Thank you :)
