Story Description
Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with big dreams and a bigger ego, lives in dusty Kansas where he tricks audiences with smoke, mirrors, and charm. Though talented, he lacks real courage and kindness. After a powerful storm tears through the land, Oscar is swept away in a hot-air balloon and thrown into a strange, colorful world , Land of Oz.
When Oscar arrives, the people of Oz mistake him for the wizard they have been waiting for a prophesied savior who will defeat the Wicked Witch and restore peace. Tempted by the promise of greatness and power, Oscar accepts the role, even though he knows he has no real magic.
Along his journey, Oscar meets three powerful witches:
Theodora, innocent and hopeful, who believes Oscar is a good man.
Evanora, intelligent and manipulative, who rules the Emerald City.
Glinda, a kind and wise witch who fights to protect the land.
As Oscar's lies grow heavier, the truth is revealed: Evanora and Theodora are the true villains, and Theodora's broken heart turns her into the Wicked Witch of the West. Glinda stands as the only force of good, but she needs Oscar not for magic, but for his courage.
Facing his own flaws, Oscar finally changes. Using his skills as an illusionist, he creates a powerful image of the Wizard giant, flaming, and terrifying proving that greatness does not require real magic, only heart, intelligence, and belief.
In the end, Oscar becomes Oz the Great and Powerful, not because he has magic, but because he chooses to be good. Peace returns to Oz, and Oscar accepts his place as its protector, while Glinda becomes the true magical guardian of the land.
