Chapter One: The Unknown Letter
Adam had no idea that his peaceful life was about to be turned upside down by a yellow envelope he found under his door one rainy night. The envelope bore no name or address, only a single sentence in shaky handwriting: "The truth is not what you see, but what you choose to forget."
Inside the envelope, he found a faded old photograph of an abandoned country house and another of himself as a child holding the hand of someone whose face had been cut out. A chill ran through Adam; he didn't remember this house, and what's worse, he didn't have any photographs from his childhood before the age of ten.
