Superheroes and villains are not rare, mythical figures; they are simply the most proficient, the most ambitious, or the most morally extreme members of the general population. People are not just "used to seeing" superheroes and villains-they grew up with them. Seeing a spectacular aerial dogfight while waiting for a bus, or stepping over a section of street frozen solid by a low-level metahuman tussle, is as mundane as noticing traffic. This normalization has led to profound societal shifts. Infrastructure is designed to withstand casual superhuman damage. The economy is heavily invested in anti-power countermeasures and specialized training academies. Children learn to manage their abilities alongside basic mathematics, understanding that their power is both a gift and a perpetual responsibility in a world where everyone is potentially dangerous. The drama of the masked conflict remains, but the surprise is gone; this is simply the chaotic, powered reality they inhabit.
