기절한 아멜리아는 눈을 떠보니 낯선 천장이 보인다. 그 옆엔 아르카나 비밀 조직 소속 S급 에테르인 '로빈'이 있었다. 아멜리아는 로빈에게서 자신이 에테르인이라는 믿기 힘든 내용을 전해 듣고, 본격적으로 아르카나 비밀 조직과, 에테르의 힘을 점자 알아가기 시작한다. 하지만, 마음처럼 되지 않는 컨트롤. 아멜리아는 자신에게 처한 역경을 해쳐나갈 수 있을까?

어떻게 보면 특이하고 괴이하지만, 사실은 평범한 나. 나는 인간들이 무서워하는, '뱀파이어'이다. 이곳, 뱀파이어 세계에 사는 뱀파이어들은 영생을 누릴 수 있다. 다만, 값비싸게 사고 팔리는 인간의 피 또는 짐승의 피를 영원히 먹어야하지만 말이다. 대부분의 뱀파이어들은 가난한 집안 탓에, 짐승의 피만 먹고, 길어야 500년을 살고 죽는다. 나는 뱀파이어 세계에서 자라, 불행한 인생을 살고 있다. 우리 가족은 돈이 없어 인간의 피, 아니, 심지어 짐승의 피도 구하지 못한다. 그 탓에 굶주린 날들이 겨우 끼니를 채운 날들보다 많다. 그나마 불행 중 다행인건, 우리 집이 산 속에 위치해있다는 점이다. 그 탓에 운이 좋은 날이면, 한가로이 풀을 뜯어먹는 고라니 또는 나무들을 헤집고 뛰어다니는 멧돼지를 잡아 피를 며칠동안 아껴 먹을 수 있다. 나는 내가 뱀파이어로 태어났다는 것을 너무 불행하게 여기고, 가끔은 내가 인간이었으면 하는 망상을 펼치기도 한다. '내가 인간이었다면, 지금처럼 피가 없어 굶지 않고 행복하게 살았겠지.' 물론 이 망상들이 현실이 되길 기대하진 않았다. 하지만 오늘, 나는 인간세계로 내려가기로 결심했다.

Yesterday we had another great pizza this time in the East Village at East Village Pizza. Not being too hungry, I had a slice and my partner had two. Fabulous crust, not too thick or thin. "145 W 53rd St, New York City, NY 10019-6005 LaGrBoucherie.com This location felt like what I imagine a grand cafe in Paris in the late 1800's early 1900's would have felt. The food was excellent and service was good. Our table was much too close to our neighbors on either side, which is uncomfortable - especially when coming and going. Had one small hiccup and they comped our dessert, which was unexpected though welcome. The bread served before the meal was mouth-watering and the closest to actual French bread that I have had in the States. The French onion soup was very good, though heavy on the croutons/baked bread so there was a lot of mush at the bottom. That is probably how it is supposed to be actually but I did not like it. Did I miss chocolate mousse on the menu? I did not see any and would have loved that. In all, we loved our experience here."
