A few one-shots of ideas and head cannons that I have about the childhoods of the Chaos Walking characters. I wish we got to learn more about their backstories in the books, so I decided to come up with a few moments of my own. These are based off of both events that were mentioned in the books and ideas that I came up with myself. If you find this story and you like my writing, then I would love to take requests! As if seventeen wasn't hard enough? Have you ever dreamed of gaining special powers? The questions are fun to ask but, in the real world, things like radioactive bugs and super soldier serums don't really exist. It's all just daydreams in the end. That is, until a few random teenagers across the world wake up to a new reality, and their lives are turned inside out. Sure, they gained some pretty amazing new abilities, but how did they get them and why? What should they do with them and how will the rest of the world react to these new "Altered"? How can teenagers be trusted with that kind of power? Just as the questions start piling up and answers are harder and harder to come by the Altered start to disappear, one by one. Life at seventeen can be hard enough, but in a world where everyone suddenly wants a piece of you, the most important answer is almost impossible to find. Who can you trust?
