(Originally submitted for the Big Finish 2020 Short Trips Writing Contest. Didn't win, regardless I wanted to share what I had written.) Everywhere I search, there they are. The Drantoo. It doesn't help that everyone uses these little guys for emotional containment. They are already trapped, used, and forced to help us read the emotions we can't. Even though these poor creatures must endure our emotions and struggles we sometimes can't face, it's what I need to save her, to wake her up. The search has been horrid and long. Planet to planet I've bounced around trying to comprehend the decisions I need to make in order to save her from her deep sleep. These struggles will not be in vain, because the thing I need to save her is an Elder Drantoo. Only the strongest one might be able to tear someone away from a coma this bad. But first I need to find him, the only one capable of seeking out an Elder. If only the little Drantoo could just tell me, if only they could speak. But, I'm certain no one in the Universe can understand them. They have no voice. Just like her.
