In the sun-baked valleys of 1500s New Mexico, where the Spanish mission bells echo against ancient canyon walls, two souls meet at a river's edge - each seeking something they cannot find in their own world. Mateo, a young Spanish settler fleeing the rigid confines of his homeland, finds himself drawn ever further from the mission's watchful eyes. His solitary walks along the river become something more when he encounters Ahiga, a Zuni Lhamana - a Two-Spirit person whose very existence challenges everything he's been taught. In Ahiga's gentle strength and artistic gifts, Mateo glimpses a freedom he's only dreamed of. Through shared moments of pottery-making, their hands speak what their different languages cannot. Each lesson becomes a ritual, each exchanged word a treasure, as they build something far more precious than the vessels they create together. In the safety of morning shadows and secret paths, they discover that love, like clay, can be shaped into something beautiful if one has the courage to try. Set against the backdrop of early Spanish colonization, "Confluence of Hearts" is a tender historical romance about finding love across cultural boundaries, the courage to live truthfully, and the universal language of the heart. Like two rivers joining to form something new, their story challenges us to imagine a world where love transcends all barriers - cultural, linguistic, and spiritual.

Rebecca never wanted to get on the damned ship in the first place. In 1543, women were bad luck on a working ship. So bad, in fact, that any women found on a ship might be cast overboard. Rebecca Parr's older brother doesn't care. When Francis Parr hears trading in Greece is THE most profitable business from a shady man in a tavern, he packs up his sister and their few belongings. He sells everything else and buys thousands of pounds of sugar to sell. He hires a merchant ship, and within a month, leaves England. There's just one problem. Rebecca, a 19 year old woman, will never be allowed on the vessel. Francis convinces his sister to hide in the dark recesses of the hold, with the sugar that's supposed to be their savior. The sailors would never find her, and if they did, they wouldn't be so backwards as to cast her overboard, would they? They would. Rebecca sinks beneath the waves, but before the ship leaves his sister behind, Francis catches a glimpse of a dark tail splashing among the waves. In the wind, a silent song lingers, just for him. "She'll be back."

//Highest rank: #32 in Historical Fiction as of 5th of July, 2017// The palace was cold and bleak. It was no place to call home. So much hatred filled these adorned corridors. A rose with thorns that pricked into her soul and poisoned her heart. Murder, death and plague. A country where freedom could mean death. A country where plots and schemes thrived under the greed of aristocratic men. Who would want to rule such a wasteland? Who would want to stake their life for something so temporary? Although, how could you not, when the throne above looked oh, so inviting.

{*~First Book of Soul Calibur: Libra of Souls~*} -------------------- {*~IMPORTANT NOTE~*} I do NOT own Soul Calibur VI nor its characters. I only own my original characters that I had put in the story already, or will about to put later in future chapters. This story is the first book of a fanfic that I made based on the Libra of Soul story mode of the said game as well, yet only with some alternate changes. Feel free to comment down some feedback and reviews. It would be a great help. I hope you will enjoy reading and have a nice day to you all~! -------------------- {*~INTRODUCTION~*} (Based Off/From the Opening of the Game) Transcending history and the world, a tale of souls and swords, eternally retold. Soul Edge, a legendary sword and devourer of souls... Buried in the darkest reaches of history, it was brought back to light in the 16th century. Soul Edge was later claimed by the notorious pirate Cervantes as the sword adapted itself to its new owner by splitting into two. Possessed by the evil weapons, Cervantes began a bloody reign of terror, but was eventually defeated by a ninja known as Taki when a female warrior named Sophitia was able to destroy one of the swords. However, one of Soul Edge's two blades still remained. The sword then fell into the hands of Siegfried, whose mind was twisted and unwell. It was not long after that a pillar of light pierced the heavens, the product of rampant evil - the Evil Seed. No one could have predicted it would become a catalyst for catastrophe across the world... Our story takes place in the 16th century.
