My name is Abbygail. To the human eye, I look as normal as anyone else. I look like a normal girl, with a normal life, normal friends and a normal family. But to the few friends I have that know better, I am nowhere near normal. I have a secret, one that I’m not allowed to tell mortals. It’s not that I don’t want to, but it’s the rules. Not like anyone would believe me anyway.. No one would believe that I’m so much older than I look. That this isn’t my first life, only one of many. But who would ever believe that?

Heart racing and hands sweating, she held the charm close to her heart, through the banging on the door, the shouting of authorities, the pleading of her father, she held the charm close to her heart, with the unknown lurking right past the closet door and then the bang when it all went silent, she held the charm close to her heart. Completely silent. No noise at all. Not even the footsteps of the authorities. Looking down at the charm, she realised it was glowing, but the glow was dimming and then it went completely out.

They were physical dolls that had a historical book series that they were placed in. In this short story, ten year old me travels back into their story time to experience their trials with them.
