Ever since he was a young boy, British school teacher Thomas Parrish looked up to his father, who had served in the British army as a dragoon , and had desired to follow his example and serve as well. Having already enlisted and moved up the ladder in the ranks to a captain, Thomas is currently serving in the colony of Massachusetts in Boston. Having distinguished himself in the 7 year war, he hoped to earn further merits and most importantly, his father's validation, but all of that went out the window once he witnessed the true colors of the redcoats. Undertaking the difficult resolve to defect to the rebellion with the assistance of the Sons of Liberty, Thomas finds his world turned upside down, but with the help of a female pirate and an aristocratic scion whose loyalties are with the revolution, he strives to become a critical component of General Washington's earliest spy network. Will his drive to redemption clear his slate?

I could feel the musket ball bite slowly into my gut, but it wasn’t the blood spilling out onto the snow that scared me; it was the hot led, tearing well into my stomach before eventually slowing, and finally lodging near my spine, carrying all of the carnage it had created with it. The round went nearly through me, bringing me to the ground in less than a second, everything I could see faded slowly to black as a puddle of piercing red collected about me. In war, there is no honor, no pride, and no regret for one's own actions.

What would you do if you ended up almost 200 years in the past? ---------- Izzy McCarnthy is 18 years old, and not sure what to do next in life. With a whole world in front of her, there's just so many options! One thing she does love, is sewing. Not just any sewing, but sewing historical clothing. Izzy's friends talked her into going to Williamsburg, Virginia for a convention. While she's there, mysterious and unexplainable things start happening, until, the wildest one of all takes place. What will she do? How will she get back to modern day? Does she even want to go back? Izzy must rely on all her historical knowledge to try and blend in, and learns a few things along the way. ---------- Sorry, my description writing sucks, but the book isn't really that bad. I didn't mark this as mature audiences, but the language can be "mature" at times, and there is some romance but it's not like inappropriate or anything. If you're not old enough for high school, then don't read the book. Besides, I know y'all'd (wow that sounds to Texan-y) still read it even if I did mark it as mature. 🤫

Picture this: a world stuck in its old ways, clinging to the familiar. Now drop Martha Jefferson into that scene, someone who refuses to play by the script handed to her.. It's 1776, the air thick with revolution and expectation. Folks expect Martha to be well-mannered, obedient, seen, but not heard. She has other plans. Instead of shrinking back, Martha goes off-script entirely and transforms into an inventor nobody saw coming. Behind closed doors (and away from prying eyes), she builds something wild, a contraption everyone insists is impossible, and then proves them all wrong by launching it skyward. You see, curiosity doesn't wear a corset or keep quiet just because tradition says so. Still, every breakthrough brings its own storm clouds. With society eager to hush women like her and influential watchers keeping tabs on her every move, Martha finds herself at a crossroads: walk away from what she's built or wager everything for the sake of progress. So what does she do. She rallies a motley crew of fellow dreamers, people cut from different cloths, but sharing one restless spirit, and together they set out on an audacious journey. Their goal isn't just tinkering with science; it's about rewriting the rules designed to box them in.

"Please, miss I...I don't wish to die," he pleaded whole heartedly. She could sense the wobbliness in his voice as he swayed lightly on the extravagant porch. "Please." She hesitated for a moment and weighed her options. "Come quickly," she demanded. Cathleen was in a state of shock to say the least, but didn't want any man's blood to be on her delicate hands. ___________________________________________ Cathleen Atwood was raised in a loyalist home, which greatly disliked any of the rebels: whatever their cause may be. Very opinionated, Cathleen wants nothing more than to get the silly rebellion over with. Henry Chantley was partial to the American cause. A soldier at the age of 18, he was cocky and stubborn. He never dreamt that he would be stumbling up to the house of a loyalist, imploring the help of a rather prestigious girl. Both find themselves in trouble, and have to escape the grueling hand of the British. How will they survive this one?
