The Baxter Street Dudes was a New York teenage street gang, consisting of former newsboys and bootblacks, who ran the Grand Duke's Theatre from the basement of a dive bar on Baxter Street during the 1870s. The story I've written is pure fiction, but they were real at a time in history.

"She seems like a nice girl," remarked Mrs. Langley, after Mrs. Burke had introduced her to Crystal Burns at the Burkes' barbecue, "And of course her family are quite respectable people; Mr. Burns being in the cotton business and all. Her mother was quite a belle when she was young, just like Miss Burns's younger sister, Alice. But Crystal is pretty. But--doesn't there seem to be a certain eeriness about her? Usually when I look at a girl of sixteen they seem rather light-hearted and gay, as if they had not a care in the world. But Crystal... she seemed so deep and serious... almost foreboding! My, her eyes seem so filled with secrets and thoughts... It doesn't feel right." *** Crystal Burns is a charming young woman living in the south in the 1860s. As war threatens her lifestyle, Crystal must decide whether to hold on to the old, or create the new.

(**new chapters every week**) The burning touch (of Ciana Ellis) is a story of this young girls long journey to power and love. The story is set in the 1800 in England. It starts off in this massive estate with Ciana (the main character) doing what she does best, saving something. Anyways this story has so many plot twists, at some parts it's really cheesy but shh. And don't be shy to point of spelling errors and give me things you would like to see in the story!!!

LIKELY SLOW UPDATES On April 12, 1861, civil war broke out in the United States. Each side fought for the cause they believed in, but only one could come out victorious in the end. It remains the bloodiest conflict in American history. *I only own my characters, which you'll meet as the story goes on.* [No set day, more random uploads] (I am not sure specifically where the cover image is from, I found it on Pinterest, but it is a painting of a Civil War battle.)
