I got a (damaged) copy of Godey's Lady's Book and Magazine, and I'm going to use Wattpad to copy some of the patterns from the work sections and then hopefully translate them into something useable to a modern knitter/crocheter. This is purely recreational, and I will update it as I have the time and motivation to do so. Do not pester me about it, but if you are a crafter with useful insight, feel free to share it in the comments. I'll try to remember to space it out so that all stays organized.

In the picturesque town of Avonlea, Felicity Hathaway is known as the poor Hathaway girl. Living on an unkempt farm with her hardworking family, she is no stranger to whispers and judgment. But Fliss is more than her family's misfortunes-she is strong-willed, curious, and dreaming of a life beyond the expectations placed upon her. As summer fades, she finds herself caught between childhood and change, friendship and first love. With Alexander Montgomery, her mischievous best friend, and Theodore Wren, the enigmatic boy with stormy eyes, she navigates a world where wealth and status dictate one's worth. But Fliss refuses to be defined by poverty. Like a wildflower growing where it shouldn't, she is determined to carve her own path-even if it means defying everything Avonlea believes she should be.

Colorado, 1877. Is forgiveness always possible? At sixteen, Emma MacEilan has seemingly moved on from her past. She's found stability as the maid to a rich woman, who pushes Emma into high society for reasons of her own. Emma makes a debut in society as the lady's American niece, giving her a different name, an accent, and a secret to hide from her siblings. She grows popular as Miss Emma Remigrant, the girl that is gone every weekend to a place society cannot figure out, and she enjoys the flattering attention of the city's young men- and especially of a certain dashing heir- but has he fallen in love with her as Emma MacEilan or Emma Remigrant? And when a familiar man seems to have found her, he brings the darkness and pain of the past she's tried so hard to forget and move away from. Can she see past it, and perhaps forgive him? What will society think if she does? If she doesn't? Society has its dark secrets and ways of bringing things to light- things that Emma and her employer would rather keep hidden... and jealousy will go to any length to get satisfaction. Highest Ranking: #208 in Historical Fiction This is the third book in my Irish Thistle series of novellas. "Routines are as predictable around here as the train running through town; always right on schedule with little to no variation. The only difference is that the train gets to travel around the country, going to new places and carrying new people. We're stuck in the same place, doing the same things, with the same people." Norah's life in a small Georgia town in 1872 is all but exciting, and she would do almost anything to get away. She dreams of moving to the big city to pursue her deep passion for art, but with no money and no way of getting there, she's stuck. Not to mention, between helping out around the farm and assisting in her family's laundry business, she hardly has any time to practice her drawing, and her skills have become a little rusty. Everything changes when news spreads around that there's been a shooting, and Micah is charged with murder. Norah inadvertently gets tangled up in the situation, but before she realizes what's happening, she's too deeply involved to back out. The two are able to keep things under control until a second murder takes place, and they are forced to flee town. Norah is finally granted the freedom that she's always wanted, but at what cost? It doesn't take long before her starry eyes turn dim. Life on the road isn't what it's cracked up to be, and Micah isn't the man she thought he was. Will Norah be his next victim, or will she be able to escape from her oppressive life one more time?
