I got a (damaged) copy of Godey's Lady's Book and Magazine, and I'm going to use Wattpad to copy some of the patterns from the work sections and then hopefully translate them into something useable to a modern knitter/crocheter. This is purely recreational, and I will update it as I have the time and motivation to do so. Do not pester me about it, but if you are a crafter with useful insight, feel free to share it in the comments. I'll try to remember to space it out so that all stays organized.

When war breaks out in Europe, the young man Ludwig is faced with a difficult decision. His father recently died and now he would take his place as a blacksmith. He also is responsible for his little sister. But the thirst for adventure and the pursuit of fame and fortune drives him to distant France.

She has reached the age of 17, where her parents have now arranged a marriage with none other than Mister William H. Styles of the Styles' family, one of the richest, come down from England. She's always been polite and abided by the rules, but after meeting Will's brother, Harry, at a party at the Biltmore, she's not so sure she wants to be perfect anymore. Nor does she want to marry arrogant William, but it's what her parents want for the family. But maybe it's time to forget about others and make herself happy.
