Her luck changes when she's adopted by a reasonably wealthy family. In this new setting, she meets a handsome gentleman that completely turns her world upside down. (Unfortunately- this isn't entirely historically accurate; I was a bit younger when I wrote this, perhaps too young, but it's my only finished work- so it's staying up.)
