My name is Babi, and my only goal in life was to retire early. I had the perfect plan: my gold Baby Boo dress, my Swarovski crystals, and that Victoria's Secret scent that makes everyone stop in their tracks. My target? My wealthy "Sugar Daddy." But gossip is an extreme sport. While trying to film a TikTok in the wrong place, my Chanel heels betrayed me, and the cliff became my runway to disaster. When I woke up on a beach, I thought: "Great, I survived and my makeup is still intact." I didn't count on the hit to the head, or waking up in chains in a filthy 1910 Scottish slave market. My expensive perfume now mixes with the smell of dirt, and my only hope for freedom has a name: Ares McLean. A tattooed redhead with icy blue eyes and the heir to a clan that doesn't accept strangers... much less a girl from the future who demands her skincare routine and refuses to get her shoes dirty. How did I go from hunting millionaires to being the "property" of a Scotsman who seems to hate me as much as he desires me?

❝if i wanted that kind of life, i would have chosen someone else. but i chose you. i 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 you.❞ ❝and i choose you. 𝘨𝘰𝘥, i choose you.❞ katy byrd was an ordinary girl--until her stepfather died, and her mother told her the truth: that she's the illegitimate daughter of an american millionaire and the only heir to his massive fortune. in a matter of months, katy is a girl between worlds: on the one hand, an up-and-coming new york socialite with more money and suitors than she could have dreamed, and on the other hand, a barefoot country girl from berkshire who loves to read mystery novels and fish in the creek behind the house. katy must decide which world she truly belongs to-and whether the man she loves belongs in either. tom branson is also between worlds: he was a middle-class man, working as a chauffeur, until he married the daughter of his employer, the earl of grantham. he can't force sybil to give up her family, but he despises the idea of assimilating into the upper class--even though the prospect of a child means it will surely happen. and when tragedy strikes his family, tom is thrown deeper into crisis. his daughter is a crawley, but he is not, and he will not pretend to be. katy gives love freely to anyone who will receive it. tom gives love sparingly to few people indeed. between the grief and the heartbreak and the growing realization that they will both have to choose between the two worlds they live in, perhaps they can create a new world--together. "Welcome to the world, moje malá holka: Antoinette." I believe that it is important to keep the stories of our ancestors alive for many reasons, but perhaps the most important reasons are to honor their memory and thank them for their sacrifices. This is a true story of my great-great grandma, Antoinette Šeplová, who was forced to come to America all on her own at the young age of 13 around 1900. Every part of this short, episodic fiction is based on records, old letters, and accounts from family members to piece together her life's story as a Czech immigrant in America. From a Pietist commune in Iowa to the rough neighborhoods of the Chicago South Side, my great-great grandmother's story is one I continue my work unraveling to this day. Thank you for your interest and support in my writing, it is very much appreciated. :) P. S. If you like my work, help support it by leaving a vote! The comedy chapters are written by Sugar The more 'realistic' chapters are written by Harlow The Secret Garden is a book by Frances Hodgson Burnett published in 1911. We do not own any of the characters or the original storyline, this is just a fun take on the novel five years after the story left off.

1915, New York City Ellis Jung never imagined living in the Land of Hopes. Will this new life in an alien country on the other side of the world, an entire ocean across her hometown, Shanghai, be as she thought? Thirteen years old Ellis and her ten years old sister, Shasta embarked on a journey, and marched into a new chapter of their lives full of hope, dreams, and love. Welcome to New York in the progressive era and explore feminism, racism, identity, and the aspects of life with a Chinese immigrant girl. *This is a novel that I planned for quite a while in my mind. I only completed a few chapters that occur in the middle of the story since they are very eventful. I'm still trying to put the less eventful chapters to words.

❝ If you look in your dictionary you will find: Titans - A race of people vainly striving to overcome the forces of nature. Could anything be more unfortunate than such a name, anything more significant? ❞ - Arthur Rostron, Captain of the rescue ship Carpathia. ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐂, the most famous maritime vessel to ever grace the Atlantic Ocean. She was allegedly proclaimed to be "almost unsinkable", and touted as the greatest innovation of the Edwardian Age. To this day, her story - passed down for generations - serves as a cautionary tale in various fashions. When one considers the matter of maritime disasters, the sinking of the RMS Titanic is the first to escape their lips. But will we ever really know what precisely occurred on that tragic night? The answer to such a question is, unfortunately, no - but that does not mean that speculation cannot occur. Published here for the first time at long last is a series of vignettes offering glimpses into the Titanic's birth, life, and death. Told through the perspectives of some of the most famous individuals aboard this notorious ship, these vignettes were penned with the intention of conceptualizing a plausible definition of the specifics which will forever remain unknown. It is my hope that these vignettes will bring their subjects back to life through the written word, and render them human to us once more. ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ── Please note that several pieces of writing within this book are compliant with or contain elements of the canonical storyline for James Cameron's 1997 Titanic.
