Three Women. Two Sides. One War to End all Wars. When a war like no one has even seen rages through Europe in 1914, three women are set on a collision course with history. As one of the first female pilots, Alouette is determined to join the war effort. She gets her chance when she is recruited by Captain Ladoux, head of France's Secret Service. But is she willing to sacrifice everything for her country? Marthe's day job as a nurse requires her to help anyone in need, including the enemy. But at night she wanders the darkened streets of Belgium as a courier for Allied Intelligence. Can she keep up her dual roles without anyone finding out her secret? The famed Mata Hari cares nothing for the war effort. If maintaining her lavish lifestyle means spying for whatever side pays her the most, then so be it. But the naive dancer is being set up for the most dangerous performance of her life. The three women must navigate through a double agent's world of deception and betrayal, and one of them will pay the ultimate price. Told from the viewpoints of these real-life women, L'Agent Double: Spies and Martyrs in the Great War is meticulously researched and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Włożę je do koperty i wyślę ku niebiosom w podzięce, za wszystko co byłem godzien otrzymać od Ciebie. Set against the backdrop of World War I, this collection of short stories captures the harrowing experiences of soldiers caught in the grip of a global conflict. While these narratives are works of fiction, they are inspired by the real-life struggles faced by soldiers, nurses, and families during this tumultuous time. Through the eyes of those navigating the chaos of battle, enduring the loss of comrades, and confronting the immense psychological toll of war, each story reflects the profound impact of conflict on the human spirit. From the relentless bombardments to fleeting moments of camaraderie, these tales delve into the stark realities of sacrifice, grief, and the echoes of hope amidst despair, serving as a reminder that many soldiers did not return home, and their sacrifices should never be forgotten. **Trigger Warning:** This collection contains themes of death, war, loss, and mild violence that may be distressing for some readers. Reader discretion is advised. Though there is not details on their deaths or blood and gore some of the stories involve soilders deaths and the deaths of friends.

He left with a rifle. He wrote with hope. He waited for April to bring him home. September 1914, Arthur Lambert kissed his mother goodbye and promised to write. From the front, his letters spoke of sunrises, mud, and longing. What they did not say was how cold it gets after nightfall, how quiet it becomes after the guns. As April approaches and the violets bloom, his words begin to dwindle. And long after the war ends, a single poem will remain - one that remembers him, even if it never says his name. Before the war, he read poetry. Amongst the violets, he became one.
