Set against the backdrop of World War I, this collection of short stories captures the harrowing experiences of soldiers caught in the grip of a global conflict. While these narratives are works of fiction, they are inspired by the real-life struggles faced by soldiers, nurses, and families during this tumultuous time. Through the eyes of those navigating the chaos of battle, enduring the loss of comrades, and confronting the immense psychological toll of war, each story reflects the profound impact of conflict on the human spirit. From the relentless bombardments to fleeting moments of camaraderie, these tales delve into the stark realities of sacrifice, grief, and the echoes of hope amidst despair, serving as a reminder that many soldiers did not return home, and their sacrifices should never be forgotten. **Trigger Warning:** This collection contains themes of death, war, loss, and mild violence that may be distressing for some readers. Reader discretion is advised. Though there is not details on their deaths or blood and gore some of the stories involve soilders deaths and the deaths of friends.

This is a love story, set in a time where been nearly ostentatiously regal and uptight was considered a definite normality, where women wore six layers of undergarments, and a type knickers that we now refer to as "skinny legged jeans", and men's trousers - or any garment - was unmentionable. To be perfectly clear, this is a one hundred and something old love story that was never going to be simple, and it all started - on possibly the most miserable day of Charles Johnson-Frost's life, little did he know, that that day, his whole life were to be turned upside down by a single fallen white canvas shoe with a single strap, a narrow toe, and a low curved Louis heel, the type of shoe that every stylish young woman was wearing in the summer of 1915. A funny love story that endures nearly sixty years, two world wars, the falls of three dictator-ships, Winston Churchill, a super-model daughter, the troubles of been a principle at the most incorrigible boys school in England, and the first female prime minister ever.
