After 20 years of extended copyright laws, 2019 welcomed the first new works into the public domain. This includes everything published in 1923. That means - like a real artist - you can steal to your heart's content. In celebration of these hundreds of new works, I thought it'd be fun to take the 1923 H.P Lovecraft short story What The Moon Brings and substitute just enough words to make it romantic instead of deeply unsettling. Bitter from years of studying a trade he disapproves of, a young business man finally lets all his dreams go as he prepares to tie the knot with the daughter of a great business ally. However, as all things seem to be in place, a ghost of his past, a forgotten love appears, causing him to choose between lost hopes and mundane success.

Mystery

My own take on the Thomas and Friends special "The Adventure Begins" and a prequel to my first story "Thomas and the Great War". It tells a more canonical/historically accurate account of how Thomas came to Sodor became the world's number one steam engine.

It's summer of 1923. Clay Ferling is a close friend of Will Gold - the current prime minister of England at that time. Each year, Will hosts a themed ball with a series of prestigious guests, but this year, there is one name that stands out to Clay. He enters the ball under a false name like everyone else and sporting a mask. A particular porcelain one. At the ball he meets someone.
