So i read this book for school called "Between Shades of Grey." This book is set in 1947 and it is about the NKVD, who work for Joseph Stalin, taking innocent people putting them im disgusting old cattle cars and taking them somewhere to get sold, but one group does not get bought so the NKVD take them up somewhere to work and then eventually they go up to siberia. The main characters name is Lina and she is in love with a boy who is in the cattle car with her who's name is Andrius. So for school we had to pick a character and write in first person as that character about their journey in the cattle car. I chose Andrius, so that is what i will be writing about.

It's 1947 and a well-respected family is living in peace. The son is supposed to inherit the house, as traditions go, but he doesn't want to. He wants to pass it onto his younger and blood-related sister, but she's already looking at houses with her fiancé. Their younger sister is not related to them by blood, she's a foster child, and a woman, meaning they would have to break traditions to let her inherit the house. This family has always been the one to follow traditions: girls learn to cook and clean, boys go to university, women stay at home making dinner and cleaning the house, men go out to work and earn money for the house. How can they break traditions now? Thank you to @_bugzy_ for creating the book cover! I was using an old one before that didn't really work that well and this person has created a much better one!

In the shadow of a nation's birth, two hearts dared to love beyond boundaries - but history had other plans. Radha, a spirited Hindu girl from Delhi, and Amaan, a passionate Muslim boy from Lahore, find solace in each other's worlds during India's final days under British rule. Their love blossoms quietly amidst the growing tensions of a country on the brink of division. As the drums of Partition echo louder, their bond is tested by the harsh realities of war, faith, and loyalty. Torn apart by lines drawn in blood, their story becomes a testament to love's endurance-and the wounds of a divided land. Will their hearts survive the violence that reshaped a nation? Or will love become just another casualty of war? This story is a work of complete fiction. The author acknowledges the sensitivity and deep pain surrounding the 1947 Partition of India. While inspired by the historical backdrop, the characters and events are imaginary. This narrative honors the memories of those who suffered and hopes to reflect the resilience of love amidst turmoil.
