Delilah walked down the street, her nose in the book she was reading, and not seeing the boy on his skateboard as he looked at a shop he passed by.
As fate would have it, the boy crashed into her, sending them both to the ground. Delilah's book slid a few inches away from her as she lay on the ground, her head throbbing with pain.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," the boy said, climbing off Delilah and helping her up.
"It's 1964 and people still haven't mastered the art of looking where they're going," she snapped to him as she bent down and picked up her book.
"Says the girl who was reading a book while she walked," the boy retorted as Delilah started to walk away from him.
She rolled her eyes in response, hoping she was never going to see him again.
