Hij denkt het te vinden bij zijn gekoppelde tortelduifjes, alleen liefde maakt blind. De relatie tussen Romeo en Julia loopt niet lekker en de pijn reageren ze af op Maximus. Dit loopt uit de hand en Maximus verliest het geloof in de liefde. De engel voelt de lust voor wraak naar de enige persoon wie dit tegen had kunnen houden. De god, die het vergif wat liefde heeft, ter wereld heeft gebracht. Maximus maakt voor zichzelf een belofte: 'Ik beloof dat ik die Cupido zal pakken.' Dit verhaal gaat over het herstel en opgroeien na trauma. Hoe moeilijk het is om weer te kunnen vertrouwen na het kwijtraken van wie je ooit was en hoe liefde, vanuit welke uithoek dan ook, je hart weet te herstellen. Voor mij heeft dit verhaal veel kunnen betekenen. Ik hoop dat het ook een plekje in jouw hart weet te vinden.
