Lloyd's Upper School.
GCSEs are just around the corner for Year 11. Friendships are put to the test, reputations are everything, and students find themselves caught in situations they never expected.
Wyatt Robinsons is the troubled student. Bullied for most of his life, he's learnt the only way to survive is to keep his head down and stay out of everyone's way. When it all becomes too much, he finds himself with a tobacco roll-up between his lips, searching for a way to escape the reality he's forced to face every day.
The teachers have long since given up on him, convinced he'll never make anything of himself.
Shaye Aitchinsons couldn't be more different.
Confident, loud, and impossible to ignore, she thrives on attention. With her infectious laugh and sharp comments, she seems to have everything Wyatt has never had.
But reputations don't always tell the truth.
As lives begin to shift and hidden truths slowly come to light, Wyatt and Shaye find themselves depending on one another in ways neither of them ever imagined.
But when trust doesn't come easily...
Can two people from completely different worlds really learn to trust each other?
