The local library has a challenge. Write a quick story on a random prompt. Some are written in 10 minutes and shared immediately, others are written over the course of a week as homework. The latter is aimed to be around 500 words. They range from fantasy to science fiction, drama to mystery. The prompts can be anything and I'm often unprepared for them. I'll put the prompt first, the story after, then followed up by any notes I have to share. Each chapter is an isolated writing prompt. A boy named Luka moves into a new school, a new city, nobody to help or talk to him except his small 6 year old brother with skin cancer. So, this is a story about a boy who goes through a lot and dies to save a girl.

Amelia has always cherished the sweet fairytales her Grandmother used to tell her. However, she had never considered what would happen if the stories came to life.

When aliens finally arrive, executive manager Jasper Caulfield only considered two possibilities for their arrival: To serve man or to serve man...on a platter. He never considered a third possibility.
