Esme liked how people saw her. A cheerleader, in a perfect relationship, happy. She was all those things. After moving schools, she got a fresh start and her past self was almost unrecognisable. Keeping busy kept her mind busy. And she liked how people saw her at school because it was so different to home. Home she didn't even have anymore. Home she didn't actually call home, because her real home was her dad's house, and she got taken away from there. But being perfect is a hard image to keep up, especially when the past catches up.

"What's your name?" The boy with curly hair asks, kneeling down in front of me. I sit there, watching him carefully. His three friends stood behind him. I swallow, then hold up a piece of my blue hair. He looks at me confused. They all do. "Blue," the one with blue eyes suddenly says. I nod slowly and drop the hair. "Well Blue, would you like to go get lunch with us?" The one in front of me offers. I bite my lip, then nod.
