The backstage hallway was buzzing with excitement as fans waited for the concert to begin. You had won a special meet-and-greet with 5 Seconds of Summer, but your nerves were making it hard to think straight.
While looking for the right room, you accidentally turned down the wrong hallway and nearly walked right into Ashton.
"Whoa, careful there!" he laughed, steadying the stack of drumsticks in his hands.
Your face immediately turned red. "I'm so sorry!"
"No need to apologize," Ashton said with a smile. "You okay?"
You nodded, still trying to process the fact that you were talking to him. Instead of rushing away, he noticed the notebook tucked under your arm.
"You write songs?"
"A little," you admitted.
"A little?" Ashton grinned. "That usually means a lot."
Before you could argue, he asked if he could read one of your lyrics. Nervously, you handed him the notebook. He spent a few moments reading before looking back up.
"These are really good," he said honestly. "You should keep writing."
The compliment felt unreal coming from someone whose music had inspired you for years.
A staff member called Ashton to soundcheck, but before leaving, he tore a page from his own notebook and handed it to you.
Written across the top was a short message:
Keep creating. Someone out there needs the songs only you can write. - Ashton
And at the bottom of the page you noticed a phone number....
