When the band, famously known as 5 Seconds of Summer's previous tour photographer, "unexpectedly" quit halfway through their last run, management had been scrambling to find a replacement ever since. Meanwhile, Brooklyn had been doing the same thing. Scrambling. A magazine she'd been freelancing for had recently cut its photography department, leaving her unemployed and desperately searching for her next gig. Late one night, while scrolling through job listings, she stumbled across an ad looking for a tour photographer. The requirements were simple: experience shooting live events, willingness to travel, and the ability to work under pressure. It sounded almost too good to be true. After sending in her portfolio, she received a response less than twenty-four hours later. "5 Seconds of Summer? You're kidding, right?.... Yeah, I know a couple of songs." A week after that, she was standing in an arena parking lot with a camera bag slung over her shoulder and a tour laminate hanging around her neck.
