Makenna finds herself in a quaint little pawnshop and finds out she has more to do with it than she thought.

Max had always been fast. In fact, she had been much faster than fast. But when she met a small arcade cabinet named 8-Bit, she found herself slowing down much more than she had intended. Desperate, she asks her friend, Piper, for help, because she was also deeply in love with a robot. But what she gets is far more than she had expected. ------- 8-Bit had always been slow. Stocky and short, the arcade cabinet felt alone in this world. Everyone was so much faster than him... they left him behind. But then he met Max, and even though she was a speedster, she waited for him. And 8-Bit felt himself change a little. So he asked his best friend, Rico, for help. He must know what to do! He was dating a human, after all, and they were quite madly in love! Well, Rico gave him a little too much of a push.
