It's a new, fresh, clean slate from her old apartment in Nashville. So, as quickly as she came, she was gone. Packed her life and her dog and went on her way. Though, in Los Angeles, suddenly her past is much more present than ever. 𝘽𝙪𝙘𝙠 thought he was in love. He was wrong. Abby was in his life one moment. The next, she was moving hours away to an island. He tried to move on, but he really did. He tried Ali. Though, that didn't work. For now, he's working on himself. Making himself the best that he can be. What happens when suddenly he gets close to someone he knows he shouldn't want? What happens when suddenly she has someone who listens and cares without a fee?

After Bobby Nash's death, Buck inherits the tin of recipe cards that once kept the 118 fed and whole. Cooking his way through them becomes his grief therapy. Eddie keeps "forgetting" to leave before dinner, sometimes with Chris, other times without, and one meal at a time, they learn how to be a family.

"So yes, as the contingency plan, I still come last. The prison riot was different because that was both of us in danger, but if it only has to be one of us in danger, then it's going to be me. Always." Buck declared, voice hard and eyes meeting Eddie's evenly. "You aren't a fucking contingency plan!" Eddie exclaimed, arms gesticulating wildly. "Yes. I. Am." Buck ground out, hands fisting where they now rested at his sides. .................................................................... Or the one where Buck puts himself in danger to save Eddie and the two boys finally have a much needed conversation about the will and the shooting. Right in front of Hen and Chim, who were just trying to read their respective book/social media post. But hey, after five years of their pining, they were at least invested in the drama unfolding before them.

I had a dream a couple of weeks ago, and it scared the crap out of me and I guess that's what made me write this? I don't know, honestly. I'm glad I did write this though. Summary: Just my imagination. (P.S. My imagination is kind of wacky, keep that in mind as you're reading). Buck and Eddie become a couple before their day as a firefighter starts and they are displeased because they want to spend more time with each other, but, it's part of being a firefighter.
