Jane x Kao | Fantasy Romance | Portal Fantasy | RPG Mystery Jane Methika knows how stories are supposed to work: choices branch, quests resolve, romance values rise, and every ending is built from conditions someone decided in advance. Then the unfinished fantasy game she helped create speaks back to her-and Jane wakes inside its kingdom wearing the armour of the chosen knight, with a sword at her hip and a glowing route leading north. The quest should be simple. Defeat the Devil Queen. Save the kingdom. Find a way home. Then Jane meets Kao, a quiet travelling mage who does not exist in any version of the game she remembers. Kao carries dangerous magic beneath dark gloves, answers questions with questions, and looks at Jane as though being the chosen knight may be the least important thing about her. The road north should bring Jane closer to the ending. Instead, it gives her a woman she cannot explain, a kingdom that no longer matches the story she helped build, and more reasons to fear what might be waiting at the end of the route. Because the farther they travel, the less Jane measures the journey by how close she is to home- and the more she measures it by how much road she has left with Kao. Every quest is written to arrive somewhere. Jane is beginning to wonder what happens when the story has chosen wrong. Inspired by "Only You" - Cheat Codes & Little Mix for distance, longing, and irreplaceable love; "Break My Heart" - Dua Lipa for desire strong enough to undo every defence; "Play Date" - Melanie Martinez for the unease between programmed affection and real attachment; "Mad Hatter" - Melanie Martinez for distorted truth and the freedom of refusing it; "GRRRLS" - AViVA for women rejecting the roles meant to control and divide them; "Hallelujah" - Alexandra Burke for love, grief, recognition, and surrender without defeat; and Maleficent for dark fairy-tale atmosphere, feminine power, and morally complicated magic.

"Don't do this," Kao mouthed. She wasn't saying it because she didn't want Jane. She was saying it because the thought of Jane being forced into her arms-the thought that Jane would only belong to her because she had no other choice-was a pain more exquisite than any rejection. Arranged marriage trope with a twist.

As Janeyeh's consultancy firm expands across Southeast Asia, she uncovers a pattern of suspicious activity - funding for her projects is being diverted, and communities she's helped are suddenly facing threats from powerful criminal syndicates. At first, she assumes it's just corruption in local governments... until she discovers the money is being funneled back to a shell company linked to the Methika family. Kao's education initiatives become targets too - schools are vandalized, teachers receive threats, and a shipment of supplies is hijacked. When they investigate, they find evidence connecting the attacks to someone inside Janeyeh's old circle at Chappelle University. The pieces begin to fall into place when Lingling reappears - no longer working for Janeyeh's mother, but as a covert operative for a transnational crime network that's been using the Methika empire as a front for years. She reveals a shocking truth: Janeyeh's parents didn't just build their fortune through legitimate business - they've been laundering money for decades, and they see Janeyeh's growing influence as a threat to their operation. Worse, they've been watching her every move since she left Bacolod. The "independent" life she built was never truly hers - her consultancy's success was engineered to distract her, while her parents used her work to expand their criminal reach into new territories. As Janeyeh and Kao race to expose the truth, they realize they're not just fighting to protect their life together - they're up against a web of corruption that reaches into governments, corporations, and even their own chosen family. Someone they trust has been working against them all along, and the only way to survive is to confront the shadows of Janeyeh's past head-on... before the Methika legacy consumes them both. Would you like me to develop this thriller plot further into chapters, or adjust the tone to be more psychological, action-focused, or suspense-driven?

Since she moved in, the rooftop of an old building had become Kao's safe place. Every night, no matter what, she would visit the moon. Luckily, no one else usually came up. Or so she thought. (Originally written in Spanish).

The headlines blared from every screen in the city: "MERIDIAN CORPORATION AND VALE FOUNDATION CLASH OVER DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT DEAL" "RIVAL EMPIRES FACE OFF - BILLIONS AT STAKE" For three generations, the Meridians and Vales had been locked in a battle for control of the city's most valuable assets. Boardroom wars, hostile takeovers, and whispered scandals had defined their relationship - and neither family showed any sign of backing down. But in the hallways of St. Orpheus University, the fight looked a little different.
