The five lakeside Clans have known nothing but peace and plenty for moons. Many young warriors have grown up never knowing war, and apprentices having never known battle, and kits having never known hunger, and the future only seems bright as the Clans' numbers and strength grow. But lasting prosperity may be too much to hope for, as disaster always lies just out of sight, one which will change life as the Clans know it forever. StarClan knows this better than most, but it seems the power of the older spirits is fading, and the living are deaf to their vague warnings. Interference from beyond only serves to further muddle their message, and it seems the fate of the Clans is left to the cats who dream of fire. --- Redpaw is a WindClan apprentice with the same modest hopes as any other Clan-born cat: To become a good warrior and serve his Clan. He and his sister, Fernpaw, have the fortune of growing up in peaceful times, with plentiful prey and good relationships between the Clans. So why, then, are his dreams filled with the horror of death and fire? As his visions begin to take shape in the waking world as well, he's left wondering if there is something wrong with him, or if StarClan has a message for him -- and if so, why? --- This is a the spiritual successor/reboot of my other fanfiction, "Embers," that was finished (the first book at least) a few years ago. It will follow the same characters and a similar (ish) but hopefully better plot, and will ideally come out a bit less rambling haha.

However, destroying magic will break the spell protecting witches from the witch burners. For once in her life, Kelsey will need to reason-not argue-with her mother that witches can be good people too, or else the stake-burnings will commence.

But what happened in between is where the answers lie. On January 1, 2061, everyone woke up. And they haven't aged since. In 2077, sixteen year old Karsyn does not know where she came from.
