At InfiniTech, the office is supposed to be dead after midnight.
The problem is tonight, it isn't.
Adam, Ben, Leo, and Max are the self-named "Night Audit Crew," the back-shift misfits who keep the systems running while the rest of the company sleeps. Their nights are usually full of cold pizza, broken code, and nonstop jokes about corporate life. For them, the haunted thing about IT has always been just the workload.
Until they find the USB.
Buried under dust and old HR files lies a mysterious drive labeled:
"HR Audit: Hayes Estate."
Mr. Hayes, their ex-boss, died under tragic and strange circumstances on his wedding night-along with whispers of an unfinished audit that was never closed.
One stupid dare later, the team plugs it in.
Screens glitch. A file named RollCall.exe opens on its own.
Every monitor freezes on the same message:
"Attendance... MANDATORY."
The lights flicker, the office doors lock, and the building comes alive with something that smells like old roses, stale cologne, and revenge. Security logs show Hayes's access card still in use. Their phones ring with an unknown caller wearing a ruined wedding suit. And a new kind of audit begins one that tracks not deliverables and deadlines, but the living and the dead.
Trapped on a floor where jokes don't land as easily and every shadow feels personal, the Night Audit Crew must uncover what really happened to Mr. Hayes, why their names are appearing in a ghostly "audit for the dead," and what it means when a company refuses to let go of the people it's already buried.
Blending office humor, friendship, and slow-building dread, *The Night Audit in an IT* is a horror‑thriller set in the fluorescent glow of an after-hours IT floor-where the scariest thing isn't the workload, but who's still on the attendance list when morning comes.
