jackson nash had always been rebellious. as a seven year old he would sneak ice cream from the freezer and his mother would catch him hearing the clatter from jackson climbing onto the counter top. she'd frown and he would pout. she always let him eat it before sending him back to bed. the behaviour only got worst as he grew into a teenager, finding a group that would encourage the behaviour and got him into bad situations. then he turned 19 and for his birthday he spent the night out with his friends drinking and partying before finally arriving home around 3 am, where he stood outside the burning building of his home. his father was fighting to get in. yelling at the firefighters keeping him back. yelling that they were still in there. then jackson knew. his family had died, his father had killed them. that was enough to sober him up. he never spoke to his father after that. never approached him. that week he applied to the academy to become a fire fighter. it wasnt because his father was a fire fighter. it was because he wished he was able to save his family. Hallie was running. She peeled out of the gravel church parking lot like a scalded dog. She had no destination. She just knew it was away from the life she was supposed to have. The life she planned for herself up until twenty minutes ago. She was driving for hours when she found herself in L.A. She had savings and that's what she planned to live on for at least a few weeks. She knew who she was running from would blow into town looking for her. He would never let her go. She needed to lay low to stay safe. However, after an accident involving the hotel room beside hers, Hallie meets Buck. As they spend more time together, Buck makes Hallie feel things she never has before. However, a romance was the last thing she needed: because a storm was coming, and Hallie was the target.

The 1st book in the series 'Story of Chickens' Flying wind is an ordinary herb- and medicine chicken at the Cat Headquarters, who wishes that the cats would stop attacking the Chicken Headquarters. She knows very well that will not happen anytime soon, because none of the 500 original cats have any respect for the chickens since majority of all chickens were against that the cats either killed or turned all other animal species into statues. When Flying wind escapes from the Cat Headquarters and joins the chickens, the cats start planning out ways to remove the chickens too for real.
