Both meant to look after the child, to guide them as they grow into their lives, then eventually wither away. There were simple rules, really; a Nightmare must not crossed the line of haunting nor ever kill their assigned Guardian, and a Guardian must not, ever, went against a child's beliefs nor ever kill their assigned Nightmare. Ashleigh, as unaware as the rest of the children, had a pair of the oddest Guides amongst others. A passive Guardian with a horrible grief buried deep in his core, and the strongest Nightmare with an obsession towards mint ice-creams. When Ashleigh suddenly went missing on Sunday afternoon with no tracks and things went horribly awry in her household, the two Guides, whether they liked it or not, must team up together to save their child. Even when it meant being hunted down as fugitives, breaking work protocols, interrupting lucid dreams, or even getting sidetracked by ice-creams.
