This book is a companion book to the "I'm No Hero" series, taking place after "I'm No Hero" and before "What Makes a Villain", but it can be read alone.

When U.A. High opened its doors for the first time, everyone wanted to go there. With the entire staff being made of top heroes, both retired ones and ones still working, it was basically guaranteed going there meant becoming a top hero. It's also a place that could attract a lot of villains. The only person that wasn't interested in it was me. I know in today's society, it was almost unheard of to not want to be a hero. I just had to make that mistake in applying to the school. Why would I apply to a school I didn't want to go to? Because my family expected me to be the next top hero. But I'm no hero. Tami hadn't noticed it at first. Her body felt a little more tired than usual, but she brushed it off. After all, life in their little house in the woods came with its daily tasks, and she wasn't one to skip them. But the next morning, when she woke up, something felt different. She felt strange-tired, with an aching in her muscles, and a faint nausea that started bothering her as soon as she woke up. She tried to get out of bed but the room started spinning. With a small smile, she thought to herself that it must be from staying up too late the night before. But when she tried to get out of bed, she felt everything around her start to spin. Reaching for Valiant's hand, who was still asleep beside her, she woke him up. He mumbled something groggily, but when he felt her distress, he immediately became alert. "Tami? What's wrong?" he asked, sitting up and looking at her with concern. "I don't know, Valiant... I just feel weird. Maybe I'm sick..." She stayed half-propped on the bed, her eyes filled with worry. He gently lifted her up and held her close. "You need to stay in bed. Give me a moment, I'll take care of you." Without hesitating, Valiant got up and headed straight to the kitchen. He gathered everything he thought she might need-honey, warm water, tea, and other natural remedies that he knew would help when she wasn't feeling well. After preparing everything, he returned to the bedroom and sat next to her. Tami had curled back up on the pillow, trying to muster the strength not to feel completely helpless. ...

Slice of life

{on Hiatus until "What Makes a Hero" and "What Makes a Villain" are complete. While this can be read as a standalone, I'm realizing there are some minor spoilers to those books I don't want to give out to all readers just yet} In a family full of Pro Heroes, it is only expected to be the very best. Raiden Yamamoto knows this better than anyone, but he is still struggling in figuring out what he wants and what is best for him. That changes when his dad proposes something Raiden never would imagine. Instead of facing his father, he decides to take a job on the other side of the world, working alongside a Pro Hero with a very interesting way of seeing things. But when a threat starts endangering the girl he holds close to his heart, will he be able to make the right choice, or one that will just end up hurting everyone around him? This book does take place before the BNHA series as it showcases what I think the first class of U.A. would be. This was how they all met, and all before they became pilots in training. Learning how to work together, and help each other in their lows and highs, made them into the team they soon become. Though with two of the new rookies being silent, it started to cause more mystery and mischief in the group.
