The world has crumbled, as the remaining people say. Survivors of the catastrophic chain reaction fight for life each day, whether they live on their own or in groups. There is no government. There is no law. There is no help. When Rin, a tough loner in a camp, and Shane, a troubled horse-loving nomadic, meet, there is no going back. When Rin's camp is attacked by merciless Raiders and most of her friends masacared as a message from the new dictator, they set out on a dangerous journey to right a wrong world, or at least what's left of it. Nobody could have predicted what came next. Nobody but Rin can lead the people to victory, bring the United States back to it's former glory...But with a responsibility like that, how can anyone have time to fall in love?
