Veronica (roni) and Vanessa (nessa) Merrell are twins. roni is going through something since middle school and nessa doesn't know what it is. Roni is depressed for the past 4 years and forces smile on her face everyday so no one really notices, and lets all her pain and emotions out at night when everyone is asleep. Nessa knows that her sister has been hiding something but doesn't know what it is. They don't see their parents very often and when they see them, all their attention goes to nessa. Will nessa ever find out what roni is going trough? Is roni ever gonna be happy again?

Vanessa and Veronica's first day at their new high school is quite interesting - they run into new people and build unexpected relationships.
