Everyone in Blackwood believed the Carter House was haunted. At sixteen, runaway Jody doesn't believe in ghosts. An abandoned house with a roof over her head is all she needs. But when she discovers a series of letters hidden inside the walls, she becomes obsessed with the mysterious death of Evelyn Carter-a woman the town insists was murdered years ago. With three suspects, a house full of secrets, and a truth no one wants uncovered, Jody soon realizes the most dangerous thing in Blackwood isn't a ghost. It's the stories people choose to believe. Some walls don't keep ghosts. They keep the truth.

Chie is in the last year of her school life before she moves away from the small village of Abingdon and her friends and she aims to make the most of their time they have together. For as long as she can remember they have all shared a love for all things horror and Abingdon has a long past of stories of the paranormal and supernatural which influenced Chie and her friends to research the many stories and myths surrounding their village. So once a month they have a sleepover where Harley and Scott share their research on one of the various myths and Chie shares a story she has written. For as long as she can remember their innocent sleepovers have followed that pattern until Scott uncovers the story of the last witch of Abingdon and they realise they have a chance to investigate her old abandoned house in the woods. What they didn't know is the ghost of the witch was waiting, waiting for someone to enter her home and set her trapped soul free.

A group of friends discovers an abandoned house at the end of their street. They think it's just an old, empty place... until they hear screams coming from inside. When one of them goes missing after entering the house, the rest realize something is very wrong. Something is inside that house. And it doesn't want them leaving.

Ruth Calloway took 412 photographs the day she found the house. When she uploaded them that night there were 413. The extra photograph showed the interior of a room she had never entered. She was standing in it. Ruth is a land surveyor. Twenty-two years of experience. The most methodical, precise, empirically-minded person I have ever spoken to. She is not someone who imagines things. this is based on an abandoned house that used to be near my house but has since been cleared for new builds. everything, from the blanket under the stairs to the hole in the wall is recalled exactly from my memories of the house. it was a big part of my childhood, probably the only reason why anyone came to my house, and a piece of its wall is buried somewhere you'll never know. enjoy! The man makes Jackson follow him to a strange place, where nothing is left. It was just an abandoned house with nothing around. That is when the man turns his back, and everything ends.
