Everyone at Abbott Elementary noticed it before it was ever said out loud. The way Melissa Schemmenti lingered in the teachers' lounge on Thursdays. The way Gary-the vending machine guy-always stayed a little longer than necessary. What started as shared silences and almosts slowly became something neither of them meant to fall into, but couldn't walk away from either. This is a story about quiet love. About choosing to stay.
