1899 Gellert Grindelwald has just come back from completing his time at Durmstrang school of wizardry to stay with his rich aunt, Bathilda Bagshot, who has cared for him since he was young. Whilst he was away at school, he had received letters from his aunt to inform him, that when he got back, they wouldn't be the only ones there. Sure enough, Gellert finally gets to meet the new residents at his home. The Dumbledores. To an outsider, they seem like a very typical family but there appears to be something very, very wrong and Gellert knows it. Why is Aberforth avoiding him? Why is Ariana kept away? Eighteen-year-old Gellert Grindelwald is in an even worse mood than usual. A long, murky history of twisted Magical experiments at Durmstrang has finally led to his expulsion. By request of his Father, Gellert's bags were packed, and he was sent off to live with his Great Aunt in Godric's Hollow, world-famous Magical historian Bathilda Bagshot. Little does Gellert know, a summer or two with his batty old Aunt could get a lot, lot more interesting. Especially when he meets a seventeen-year-old Hogwarts prodigy. Albus Dumbledore was the shining star of his family and one of the most brilliant students that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has ever produced. Albus' mother, Kendra, has passed away, leaving Albus' younger brother Aberforth and his frail and mentally delicate sister Ariana to fend for themselves. Of course Albus was being called home. Albus was beyond irritated. He was angry. Despite all this, Albus returned home, seething. Instead of travelling the world, becoming great, he was stuck at home with the burden of tending to his brother and sister. What could be worse. Fortunately, a new arrival in Godric's Hollow is about to brighten up Albus' days. A mysterious young man by the name of Gellert Grindelwald. (I do not own Harry Potter or the characters from the Harry Potter universe. All credit goes to J.K Rowling. I don't even own the cover!)

Albus Dumbledore is seventeen, arrogant, ambitious and on top of the universe. He's just fresh out of Hogwarts when a lightning bolt of fate smacks the genius down to Earth again and now he's gone from having the world at his feet to only going as far as his front door. Returning to his hated little village to take care of a family whom barely knows him, things are tense but holding together until another lightning bolt named Tragedy strikes. Weighed down with guilt and grief and utterly alone, Albus flees as far away from his past as he possibly can but instead, runs straight into another puzzle, although this time if he doesn't put this one together there can be more than one life lost. Ariana Dumbledore and Merope Gaunt, were similar, in that both had traumatizing childhoods and oppressed magic. One was raised with love, the other raised with hate. Yet both young witches have their own story. Stories only alluded to, yet never given clarity. What were the mysterious acts that occurred during their childhood, that will be left a mystery? There is one thing that has occurred, and that is, both girls, so rare in nature, may be cases of an Obscurus. ------- This fanfiction will have my own take on these two characters from the Harry Potter universe. I will try to keep the information as cannon based as possible. I hope to expand upon the worlds given so little detail, including the Dumbledore's family relationships and story. Note: with the new fantastic beasts franchise, some of Dumbledore's history has been given. However the release of new plot and backgrounds will only be referenced to as nothing is certain. This is purely a fanfiction of my own theories put into a story.

The day that changed everything. The course of history. One duel, one death. But how did it happen? How could it come to that? I tried to do it after all of the information we got so far and connect them, find a way how they could all work together. However I still changed some parts that didn't make much sense in the bigger plotline of the duel. Sorry for my bad English, it just didn't sound good in German.

Ann Grindelwald is notoriously known by her father, Gallert Grindelwald. She does not believe into killing innocent people for being powerful. She is best known for her temper and intelligence. Her father wants her to be the darkest wizard of all time or will she have to refuse, a riddle perhaps might change her mind to do great things together.
